Celebrate New Year's Eve at Kennett Square's Iconic Mushroom Drop

As 2025 draws to a close, Kennett Square invites you to partake in its cherished tradition—Midnight in the Square.

 

This annual event, renowned for its unique Sparkling Mushroom drop, promises an evening filled with excitement and community spirit.

 

The festivities commence at 7:00 PM on December 31, featuring an impressive lineup of live entertainment.

 

Attendees can enjoy performances by the School of Rock, KMC Dancers, Veronica, Syde 2, and Fred McCarthy.

 

Adding to the spectacle, a dynamic laser show and a two-hour photo booth, provided by Lehigh Valley Events & Productions, LLC, will be available for guests to capture memorable moments.

 

For families with young children or those preferring an earlier celebration, the Early Raise offers a special highlight.

 

At approximately 8:50 PM, weather permitting, the illuminated mushroom will ascend 80 feet into the night sky, creating a magical experience for all ages.

 

Later in the evening, around 10:15 PM, the Mushroom Drop Stress Ball 50/50 Raffle will take place.

 

Participants can purchase stress balls for $10 each via Venmo (@kennettsquaremerchants), at The Mushroom Cap (114 W. State Street), or onsite before 10 PM.

 

Three winners will be selected, each receiving prizes valued at $1,700.

 

As midnight approaches, anticipation builds for the main event.

 

At 11:59 PM, the countdown begins, culminating in the descent of the iconic mushroom to welcome 2026 with a burst of community joy.

 

Just before the stroke of midnight, two winners will be drawn for the annual raffle, each receiving baskets valued at over $3,200, filled with gifts and gift cards from beloved Kennett Square businesses.

 

Raffle tickets are available for $5 each or three for $10.

 

Admission to this festive event is a non-perishable food donation, supporting the Kennett Area Community Service.

 

It's a wonderful opportunity to give back while celebrating together.

 

The celebrations will continue until 1:00 AM, with the live band Syde Two closing out the night.
